Standing Stone Coffee

Standing Stone Employees

Greg
Bio: "I'm co-owner of Standing Stone Coffee Company with my wife Jessie. I have quite the varied background: studied computer science and graphic design in college, went into campus ministry with CCO for 8 years at Penn State and Messiah College. While doing that I got a Masters in Higher Education and fell in love with college students and the communities where colleges are located. While at Messiah College I oversaw national and international service and mission projects and worked heavily in the field of Service Learning. I've travelled to many countries, seen many things, met incredible people, and have come to have a deep desire to work towards healing in the world. That's where the coffee shop comes in. We can't think of a better way to help people reconnect than through a local gathering place that helps connect you to the broader world."

Favorite Band: "U2"

Any Pets? "An incredible but semi-OCD dog named Chase, and two cats Ivan (aka "The Hurricane," or "The Terrible") and Lizzy (who came with the building, huddled in a corner in the basement)"

Craziest Place I've ever Been: "Ah, so many stories, but among the top would be 'guests of honor' at a birthday party for friends we just met in a tiny town near Cusco, Peru, eating pig stew with half of the pig still hanging behind us."

Favorite SSCC Food and Drink: "The Three Cheese Celebration, a bowl of the Spinach Feta soup, and a fresh brewed mug of Brazil Mogiana Yellow Bourbon."

Jessie
Bio: "I'm the co-owner/operator of Standing Stone Coffee with my husband Greg. Originally hailing from Carlisle, PA I spent 6 years at Penn State becoming professionally trained as a Speech Pathologist. I'm currently keeping our heads above water by serving as a Speech Therapist in the Huntingdon school district. I then help out in the cafe as often as I can. Pottery, good books and movies, quality coffee and plenty of walks in the woods with their dog Chase help to keep me grounded. Where Greg is the dreamer, I'm the realist, so we make a great team for managing the cafe."

Favorite Band: "Nickel Creek"

Any Pets? " Ivan and Lizzie, two very obnoxious rescue cats. And of course, Chase, as Greg mentioned above."
